Q: What is a Recovery & Preparation Therapist?

A: A Recovery & Preparation Therapist is a multi-disciplinary practitioner trained and skilled in speeding up the body’s recovery and enhancing the body’s readiness for what ever activity you pursue. This is done through observing, assessing and treating possible movement dysfunctions and optimising movement potential through the use of soft tissue and motor control techniques.

A Recovery & Preparation Therapist may use the following treatments:

  • Remedial & Sports Massage
  • Lymphatic Drainage
  • Myofascial & Osteofascial Release
  • Power Plate Whole Body Vibration
  • NeuroKinetic Therapy
  • Tissue Mobilisation & Activation
  • Loaded Movement Training
  • Niagara Cycloid Vibration Therapy

Each of these treatments would be utilised where appropriate based on your reason for visiting, your expected outcomes and observations made through your assessment.

Q: What would I expect from a 45 minute Private Treatment if I was after enhanced recovery?

A: The type of recovery session that you may need will depend on what your activities have been and how intense they were, how long since you’ve performed your activities and what condition your body’s tissues are in. Treatments might include:

  • Massage to flush the body of cellular waste and promote nutrient and oxygen intake.
  • Myofascial and Osteofascial Release to improve tissue responsiveness and range of motion.
  • Lymphatic Drainage to help remove inflammation and toxins from the body and reduce fatigue.
  • Whole Body Vibration to up regulate cell oxidisation and the Lymphatic System.
  • Whole Body Vibration to improve tissue mobility.
  • Whole Body Vibration to promote Growth Hormone (GH) release for cell and tissue repair.
  • NeuroKinetic Therapy to identify motor control dysfunctions and overworking muscles.
  • Tissue Mobilisation to restore efficient joint movement.

A: The type of preparation session that you may need will depend on what your planned activities are, how intense they will be, how soon you will be performing your activities and what condition your body’s tissues are in. Treatments might include:

  • Massage to warm up the soft tissues and promote nutrient and oxygen intake.
  • Myofascial and Osteofascial Release to improve tissue responsiveness and range of motion.
  • Lymphatic Drainage to help reduce the onset of fatigue.
  • Whole Body Vibration to up regulate cell oxidisation.
  • Whole Body Vibration to improve tissue mobility.
  • NeuroKinetic Therapy to ensure all movement patterns are working optimally.
  • Mobilisation to create efficient joint movement.
  • Loaded Movement exercises to promote vasodilation for the specific muscle groups involved in your planned activities.

Q: Can I just get a 45 minute massage?

A: If you just feel like a massage then this is certainly an option. The session that you book is yours and we are here to facilitate what ever it is that you want. Please make sure you detail what it is you are after in the Treatment Type Form which you will be prompted to fill in as part of your online booking. We will do everything we can to meet your expectations and for the length of the session any of our treatments are available for you to experience. We do have a private massage room available should your session require it.

Please note that we do not offer Relaxation Massage and if any requests fall outside of our professional scope then we will do our best to find someone who can help you.
